Local Manufacturer Announces Houma Expansion
Weatherford Gemoco of Houma announced June 15, 2007 its intention to remain in Terrebonne Parish, relocating and expanding its facility to the new site at La. 311 north of Hwy. 90 to avoid further risk of storm-event flooding. The new facility will feature climate-controlled manufacturing areas, on-site child care, a cafeteria and other amenities for employees. Shown above are David Colley, Weatherford's vice president of procurement, supply chain and manufacturing support; George Ribble, Weatherford's director of cementing manufacturing for Weatherford; Pat Seely, Weatherford Gemoco's general manager; and James Martens, Weatherford group vice president. Also in June, Weatherford Gemoco was awarded the 2007 Lantern Award by the state of Louisiana, being celebrated as one of the state's top manufacturers.
