Houma - Terrebonne is located at the intersections of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) and the Houma Navigational Canal (HNC,) which is a straight, twenty-six mile voyage to the Gulf of Mexico. The convergence of these two water superhighways is adjacent to the medium draft Port of Terrebonne, which is currently leasing land with channel access.
